Blogging Tips & Workshop

Blogging Tips & Workshop

Blog efficiently focus on quality not quantity.
Write in third person (It is, it does, the effects of which are)
Talk about in a matter of fact fashion, with confidence.
Informed decisions.

When making a design deacon based on personal preference or aesthetic analysis write blog entry using only objective justifications for the decision these been cultural, contextual, audience, communication, primary research, literature.

"The design is effective because...."
"The colour choice...."

Describing is what you see, aesthetic appearances.
Analyzing is going more in-depth, expanding on aesthetics and technical aspects and contextualizing it relating to objective justifications.

Evaluating is examining my practice on a personal level or evaluating a source on a basic level.
Contextualizing is applying and explaining decisions within a creative context.

Theorizing is making connections between theory and practice.
Narrating is describing with application of more specific detail, like I woke up at 7am and made a coffee.

When evaluating design decision's don't evaluate every decision. Evaluate important points and accumulation of all important points in a concise description.

Justify design decisions using design language, explain how it helps to solve design problems.

Use GIFs to show a journey in a compact way, doesn't take up as much room and relates to the textual explanation better.

Consider alternatives, explain them in a concise and refined way.

Reference sources.

"Critical justifications; Justifying your creative decision is not simply a matter of finding a way to justify your approach but to justify your approach in light of all other reasonable options. Its easy to justify any decision but it's not as easy to accept that there may be valid alternatives. This goes the same for opinions"

BLOG WITH PURPOSE - DONT WASTE TIME OVER FILLING WITH UNNECESSARY OR UNCRITICAL DETAILS.
DETAILED YET CONCISE.
