Initial ideas, concepts & inspiration - Secret 7 

Lyrics & Listening to the track 

Analyzing the lyrics would be the first way to go about generating some ideas, picking out iconic lyrics that could spark further ideas both conceptual and image based to resonate and communicate the track, listening to the song will also spark ideas too. 

After listening to the song multiple times I analysed a few things that stood out from both the lyrics and the general vibe off the song. These could help me begin generating word associations and further ideas.

After playing it to my girlfriends parents they both said it gave them strong memories of "underground nightclubs", "drugs", "sneaking out to places I shouldn't have been visiting" 

Looking into a few of these comments made me want to progress idea generation based on:

90s Era and how it was the peak of the trance & techno music genre.

How its a timeless track, as popular now as was on release, this hints at feelings of nostalgia as well as timelessness.

The idea of a generation been defined makes me want to look into things like fashion and other aspects that could define this era. 

The term Born Slippy is British Slang  for Quick & Alert, a set of words that could inspire ideas and visuals.

3 concepts to develop visual scamps from

Look into working from the  term Born Slippy and how it contrasts and interacts with its British Slang translation Quick & Alert. Visualise both terms in a contrasting way influenced by the lyric "Shimmering & Dirty".

Emulate the 90s club scene, create feelings of nostalgia and recognition through the use of influence from:

Neon Signs and Neon Colours

90s Fashion & Fads (Striped sweaters, Gingham, Bandana, Graphic Tee's, 90s video games, Windbreakers, Bucket Hats, Tommy Hifieger, Ralph Lauren, Starter Jackets for a few examples) 

Emulate a whole weird and random feel that references a drug experience through exploration of Anxiety, Euphoria and Music. 

Further reference images & Research

To influence aesthetics and enhancement of the above concepts it was necessary to compile together a mood board of source image and research to work from.  

I will be using these reference images to influence use of & interaction of colour, inspire use of image and type, image making, aesthetic, layout and further concept enhancement. In conjunction with the concept ideas I have and initial ideas I will combine these resources with further investigation into specific album artwork relevant to the concepts I have arrived at.
