Type journal

Type journal

Bellow is a nice example off how 3 different origins of type can work in context off an overall design piece. In this example a bottle off aftershave it displays elements of elegance, freshness and minimalism through its use off 3 different fonts.
I will analyze each font individually.

DAVIDOFF
Production method: Digital, its influenced by lead but this couldn't come from this due to the offset crossbar in the A as this deifies the abilities of this production method.
Anatomy: Contrasting weights in the stems, the cross bar on the F is very thin compared to the stems in the rest off the glyph, same with the left hand stroke on the A and the right hand stroke on the V. All light weight contrasting with heavier weight strokes. As mentioned the A's cross bar is offset creating n abstract representation of an A but still maintaining legibility off the glyph. Uppercase.
Identity: The context in wich this font is used for is on the aftershave "Davidoff cool water" Modern. The font appears to be a modified version off Linex Sans Pro regular from the monotype foundry.

Character: Minimalist with contrasting weights in stems and geometric O.

Cool Water
Production method: Origins come from bone as this looks like a script font.
Anatomy: Elegant extension on W terminal in "water" to emulate a fluid motion to represent concept of the word "water". The strokes are a consistent weight apart from the tapering off thin stem from the W terminal and the loop coming from the 'l'. Uppercase and lowercase.
Identity: Looks like a custom font created for the product. Modern version of a traditional style font.
Character: Elegant, decorative and fluid to strengthen "water" concept.

EAU DE TOILETTE
Production method: Lead origins.
Anatomy: Consistant weight in stems rounded off terminals creates contrast with angular elements off glyphs like T, E and A. Consistent lengths off stokes in T A creates symmetry and feeling off structure. Uppercase.
Identity: Modern font inspired by univers font by Adrian Frutiger in 1954, i come to this conclusion due to its versatility on how it works with 2 other styles off types, very universal.
Character: Consistency, structured, stable font.
